Doesn’t matter what time you do it, but breaking the fast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast doesn’t need to be a big deal and it doesn’t need to be breakfast foods. Check out some of the breakfast ideas below. They can be prepared in three minutes or less and most fit the “grab and go” category. If you have more time, eating a hearty breakfast on campus is the way to go. Do what’s easy—just do it!

  • Bakery bagel with 1 Tbsp. cream cheese or peanut butter and milk or juice
  • Small box of dry cereal, banana, and milk
  • Hard boiled egg ( or three whites), toast with butter or margarine, and orange
  • Instant oatmeal packet(s), skim milk, and small box of raisins
  • Yogurt and pita bread
  • Toasted English muffin with melted mozzarella or cottage cheese, grapefruit slices
  • Breakfast bar(s) and skim milk

Can healthy eating and college life go together? Absolutely! Get the nutrition facts you need in the book Eating Well on Campus by Ann Litt, M.S., R.D., L.D.
